POWER HUNGRY OR LEADERSHIP HUNGRY?
Not to defend any politician in particular -- but if one can accuse one Anwar of being "power hungry" then likewise, one can accuse Mahathir of being the same, never stopping even at 93.
To me, the issue is more of a need to step up to the game, of great leadership in this country. For that, i give both Anwar and Mahathir my admiration for doing so. Anwar has suffered & sacrificed his life tremendously, and likewise his family too.
Being educated, with international friends, they could have migrated and have a comfortable life in UK or US or even Turkey. But they chose to stay.
The good life is what most of us armchair critics would be unwilling to sacrifice... And we go on sitting in our armchairs and judging each other superficially.

Let us share the following,
We are aware there are a group of people who say that Datuk Seri Anwar is greedy and power crazy and there is no doubt a lot think that is true based on the many feedbacks on social media groups that he making a come back in such a way is proof of it.
But there is a different perspective. Our thinking is, if Tun M at 93 suddenly is incapable to lead this country or touch wood, passes away.
There's no one I know actually who has the will and charisma as Tun M to keep all the PH parties together besides Anwar.
We don't see it in Azmin (not yet anyway) neither do I see it in Rafizi after all his outburst seen since May 2018. And not in Mukriz and impossible despite all his skills for Guan Eng.
Not only does the person taking over Tun M has to have that significant role to hold intact together PH parties, but he has to have that power too and the pull to make sure government servants toe the line and not switch sides to help UMNO return.
Despite Tun M being in charge, we currently have sabotages and department heads not following directives, and many a Civil servant who feels that working for PH is not working for them (especially those who survives on corruption or under table).
If there is no strong leader in charge, racist extremist groups clamouring for UMNO to return may cause chaos along racial lines and without a capable PM, PDRM or the army may even switch sides in the guise to ensure peace and stability. All this could be a potential reality in the event they exploit a weak PM as an excuse to take back what they lost.
The Royalty though initially unhappy are seen to have accepted Tun M as PM for now. If there's no Tun M nor Datuk Seri Anwar, then who can take charge while ensuring everything doesn't collapse?
We , DO NOT want BN to return. Not so soon anyway, maybe a decade or two, but definitely not with their current set of leaders and current mindset.
In the long run, we can have better leaders, even Nurul Izzah could be the first female Prime Minister but in this short trasition period from BN to PH, I cannot see anyone else capable to lead besides Tun M or DSAI.
Nobody has the skill required, the cunningness, the will power, the leadership qualities, the respect or to strike fear in the enemy after Tun M except DSAI.
Like it or not, we would prefer DSAI to be the next PM rather than letting PH implode and fall and break up under a weaker PM, undermined by internal and external forces, non co-operation by government heads of departments working in cahoots with their ex UMNO masters.
We can be like the proverbial ostrich ignoring all this signs and possibilities and think that all this can be tackled easily no matter who is the next PM, but in reality we cannot ignore that the enemy who has lost everything and in their desperation to regain what they lost may succumb to the dirtiest of trickery to be back. After all this is politics.
